Remote Island Celebrates First Community College

Yesterday marked the opening of the first higher education and vocational college for one of the world’s most remote islands. The ribbon-cutting of St. Helena Community College was performed just after 3pm May 17 on St. Helena Island, South Atlantic Ocean. Members of the community were excited about the increased opportunities the college will bring to its 4,500 citizens.
